hello ‒

I am a watchdog government reporter in Bend, Oregon. It is a town grappling with its own growth after becoming a "Zoom town" during the COVID-19 pandemic, which means I cover all things public policy, land use and homelessness in breaking and enterprise formats. My coverage area extends beyond Bend and into the juniper-ridden deserts and smaller towns of Central Oregon.

I've been a print journalist since I was 15. I began as an assistant at a food magazine in my midwestern hometown where I worked until it could no longer support itself and went out of business. At the University of Oregon, I dedicated my time to investigative and solutions-oriented stories, which ultimately informed the work I do today. Though I cut my teeth in the ways of print, I'm driven to create relevant, digestible and beautiful content in a variety of forms to maximize accessibility to journalism.
